Apprentice Acrylic Bath Installer
A message from Frank Mumford, CEO of SIR Home Improvements
I started SIR Home Improvements in 1980 with the goal of helping homeowners bring comfort, safety, and style to their homes through high-quality remodeling. More than four decades later, we’re still a family-owned company committed to excellence, and we’re looking for hard-working individuals ready to learn a trade, grow their skills, and build a lasting career.
We’re currently hiring an Apprentice Acrylic Bath Installer to join our production team in Portage, Michigan. This is an entry-level, full-time role designed for someone who wants to learn hands-on, develop craftsmanship, and eventually grow into a skilled, independent installer. If you bring a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a great attitude, we’ll provide the training and support you need to succeed.
If you have plumbing or bathroom remodeling experience, that’s a huge plus, but it’s not required. What matters most is that you’re reliable, respectful, and committed to doing great work in the homes of our customers. We’re proud of the reputation we’ve earned for professionalism, and we want people who are serious about helping us uphold it.
Here’s what you’ll do
Work under supervision as part of a three-phase training program
Assist with acrylic bath system installations in residential homes
Support the Energy Team and help with general labor tasks when needed
Refine basic skills including cutting, measuring, drywall, trim, and other home improvement techniques
Gain hands-on experience with blown-in insulation and energy-saving systems
Maintain clean and safe work sites and follow all safety and health best practices
Represent SIR Home with professionalism and courtesy in every home you enter
Learn and grow through in-house training and on-the-job experience

Great attendance and a team-oriented mindset
