Most roofs fail from lack of proper ventilation and poor insulation. We check for the warning signs of damaged or aging roofing foundations, ventilation and insulation and then fix those problems before we start installing the shingles. The process begins when the old roofing is removed. Bad wood is replaced, metal valleys are installed along with a new drip edge. Flashing is placed around the chimney and any pipes. Flashing of the walls is also taken care of. We install an ice and water shield that extends 24 inches past the interior walls and protects against any potential moisture damage. Ventilation is made efficient by adding both ridge vents and smart vents, which creates a 50/50 functioning ventilation system. Fifty percent of the ventilation comes from the peak and 50 percent from the eaves. Attic insulation must also be taken into account and is addressed as part of the roofing system SIR provides. Then, once all this preparation has been completed that seals your home efficiently, the shingles are expertly installed according to factory standards by our skilled professionals. Finally, when the job has been completed, the mess is taken care of 100 percent every time.
